| New Programs in Development Private Sector Preparedness Voluntary Certification Under an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ANAB will be the sole source accreditation body for the Private Sector Preparedness Voluntary Accreditation and Certification Program. ANAB continues outreach efforts to various associations and conferences. DHS published a Federal Register Notice on October 16, 2009, announcing its intent to designate three standards for this program: ASIS SPC.1, BS 25999-2, and NFPA 1600. Soon after the comment period for this notice is completed, ANAB will move its accredited certification program forward under the assumption that these three standards will be designated but with flexibility to add or subtract from that list. ANAB will work on a 12-point plan during January and February 2010. You can find related information at this Department of Homeland Security site.
