ANAB Accepting Nominations for Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee

Nominations due February 28, 2022

The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), a wholly owned subsidiary of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is accepting nominations from interested persons to serve on its Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee (CAPAC). Nominations must be received by Monday, February 28, 2022.

The CAPAC Nominations Committee seeks national experts with broad experience in the fields of personnel certification, accreditation, and policy development related to credentials. Although all individuals with relative experience/knowledge are welcome to apply, strong preference will be given to individuals with a background in the following areas:

• Educational Training
• Certificate Granting
• Government

Specific duties of committee membership include: providing recommendations to policies and procedures for the ANAB Certificate Accreditation Program; determining the accreditation status of certificate issuers that have applied for initial accreditation or are undergoing their annual surveillance accreditation process; and providing input and advice to ANAB staff regarding operational issues. Members attend quarterly one-day meetings each year and serve on sub-committees and review panels as appointed by the CAPAC Chair. Travel for the quarterly meetings may be required. Members are appointed to a term of three years. More information on CAPAC is provided in the Operating Procedure for Credentialing Accreditation Committees.

• Resume or Curriculum Vitae
• Cover Letter that includes:
  • A statement of willingness to serve
  • A description of relevant experiences and expertise
  • An acknowledgement that ANAB does not reimburse for expenses and costs associated with travel for meeting attendance

 To nominate another individual, please provide the following:

• Nominee’s resume or Curriculum Vitae
• Letter of endorsement for the nominee
• Current contact information for nominee. ANAB staff may then contact nominee for a letter that includes
  • A statement of nominee’s willingness to serve
  • A description of nominee’s relevant experiences and expertise
  • An acknowledgement that ANAB does not reimburse for expenses and costs associated with travel for meeting attendance

The Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee (CAPAC) accredits training and educational certificate issuers in accordance with ANSI/ASTM E2659-18, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. The responsibilities of the committee include:

• Preparing procedures and criteria for assessment
• Formulating policy matters relating to the operation of the Certificate Accreditation Program
• Reviewing the process of assessment and rendering decisions on accreditation
• Making decisions relating to the granting, maintaining, extending, suspending, reducing, and withdrawing of accreditation
• Creating procedures to support the approved policies
• Receiving recommendations for accreditation from ANAB approved assessors
• Supervising the implementation of accreditation program policies
• Delegating authority to organizations, committees, or individuals, as required, to undertake defined operational activities on its behalf
