EPA to Require Accreditation For Field Sampling Measurement Organizations

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has published the Policy to Assure Competency of Laboratories, Field sampling, and Other Organizations Generating Environmental Measurement Data Under Agency-Funded Acquisitions. The policy, which is effective from February 22, 2011, requires that organizations (for example, laboratories, field sampling and measurement) generating environmental data under EPA-funded acquisitions submit documentation of their competency, which may include participation in applicable certification and/or accreditation programs
